Web Design in Cologne

From Hürth, for Cologne. And we'd be happy to come to your location.

Our studio is located in Hürth, right on the outskirts of Cologne. Most of our projects are conducted nationwide via video. For companies in Cologne and the Rhein-Erft district, we’re happy to hold workshops and conduct final acceptance tests at your location, with the same point of contact.

Short communication channels instead of agency hierarchies

We're happy to hold the kickoff workshop at your company, because you can learn more in one hour there than in three video calls. After that, we'll continue working via video, phone, or WhatsApp, and we'll stop by again for the final review.

What You Need to Know Before You Inquire.

Three articles that address the most common questions asked during the initial consultation.

In a nutshell

Two questions, answered in detail.

What makes a good company website?

A good company website answers three questions within the first few seconds: What does the company offer, who is it for, and what’s the next step? To do this, it needs a clear page structure with a separate page for each service, text written in the language of its customers, and a visible path to submit an inquiry or schedule an appointment on every page.

From a technical standpoint, it must load quickly on mobile devices, be accessible to all users, and be easily read by search engines: clear page titles, structured data, and no important content that appears only after users click. Additionally, as of June 28, 2025, the Accessibility Enhancement Act applies to many websites that offer services to consumers.

Trust is built on evidence, not just claims: real projects, contact people you can put a face to, verifiable reviews, and a complete legal notice. And the website must be maintained by your own team; otherwise, it will become outdated shortly after launch.

How does a web design project with Marschfahrt work?

We start with an initial consultation to clarify your goals, target audiences, and current situation. Afterward, you’ll receive a written proposal with a fixed scope of work. If you already have a website, we’ll first analyze which pages drive traffic and generate inquiries so that nothing is lost in the process.

In the concept phase, we define the page structure and content; then we create the designs. You review and provide feedback on everything before development begins. The site is typically built using Framer or WordPress, depending on who will maintain the website later and what features are needed.

Before launch, we check load times, accessibility, forms, and redirects. After go-live, we monitor Search Console and user inquiries and make corrections if something isn’t working. You’ll have a dedicated point of contact from start to finish, and the code, access credentials, and content belong to you.

What you're probably wondering right now.

The questions that always come up during the initial consultation. Here are the answers.

How much does web design cost with you in Cologne?

That depends mainly on the scope, text, and features. Using our cost calculator, you can see your price range—item by item—in just two minutes. You’ll receive the exact fixed price in writing after the initial consultation.

Do you work with WordPress or Framer?

Both. WordPress for traditional corporate websites with multiple editors, and Framer when speed and design flexibility are more important. The decision is made during the planning phase, not beforehand.

Will we be able to maintain the site ourselves afterward?

Yes, that's the standard procedure. You can edit text, images, and new posts using the content management system. Training on how to use it is part of the handover.

Who owns the site in the end?

You. The code, design files, access credentials, and documentation will be handed over in full. There are no obligations to us, either technical or contractual.

We already have a website. Is it even worth building a new one?

Not always. Sometimes it’s enough to make three fixes to what’s already online. We’ve written a blog post explaining when a relaunch is worth it and when it isn’t. We’ll also discuss this with you before anyone spends any money.

How long does it take to build a new website?

A single landing page takes about two weeks to complete; a company website usually takes four to eight weeks from the initial consultation to going live. A complete rebuild, in which all Google rankings are transferred, takes up to three months. We include the delivery date in the quote.

Do you come to Cologne for appointments?

Yes. Our studio is located in Hürth, right on the outskirts of Cologne. We’re happy to hold the introductory workshop and the final review at your location in Cologne or in the Rhein-Erft district; the remaining sessions will be conducted via video. Projects throughout Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are handled the same way—entirely via video.

Is the website accessible?

Yes, according to the BFSG. We plan for this from the very beginning, rather than having to retrofit it later. For many companies, it’s now mandatory; for everyone else, it’s simply better.

Should we take a look at your website?

Send us a quick note explaining what the issue is. We'll take a look at what you have and give you our honest opinion on whether a new setup is worth it or if the problem lies elsewhere.
